How to Make DIY Wellness Shots | Food 101 | Well Done

– Shot, shot, shot. Not that kinda shot people, I’m talking about wellness shots. I’m about to show you
how to make a big batch of wellness shots that you can
sip on all cold season long. Ginger and lemon are the main ingredients. Lemon juice is packed with vitamin C and we know that that
supports our immune system. You wanna peel your lemons to get rid of some of that bitter taste from the pip. But leave some of the white on, that’s got extra vitamins. I’m not worried about the seeds, we’re gonna strain it at the end. Pop the peeled lemons
straight in the blender. A blender works just fine, you don’t have to have a fancy juicer. Chop up your ginger to give it
a head start in the blender. Ginger improves digestive
health and is an antioxidant, but during cold season it’s
really important to know that it’s also an anti-inflammatory, it’s great for those sinuses. Add a little water to get it
going, let’s see what happens. (blender running) Woo. Next, we’re gonna strain it
through a fine mesh strainer. I like to sweeten it up and ease the bite with a little bit of honey or maple syrup. That also helps coat the throat. And then, a pinch of cayenne, this will open up those sinuses. No alcohol needed. Time for that shot glass, you don’t have to take it in a shot glass but it makes it more fun. Remember, this is super concentrated, so I like to cut it with
a little bit of water. You can dilute it now or
each time you make your shot. Bottoms up. Woo. It feels good all the way down. Store this in your fridge
and take a shot each morning, it’s sure to protect you from something. (playful jazz music)

  1. Great idea! I'm a producer for the TV show "RightThisMinute," and we'd love to use this on our show and/or digital platforms with all credit to you. Let me know when you have a chance if that's okay!

  2. Wow!! I applaud you for doing this as I just can't handle these wellness shots! I know they are so good for you..but they are just too strong!!
